Manifesto Pledges
As an independent PCC, I can speak for you and I will highlight your concerns, demanding the government introduce appropriate legislation to tackle the problems correctly and effectively by demanding the Government to properly fund the Police service.
I will respect the fact that I was elected by you, the public, to hold the Chief Constable and the force to account, listening to your views and opinions on policing and the issues that affect you and in your area will be my top priority.
There are too many incidents where the Police are failing the public. My job will be Police accountability, to ensure transparency and to re-build mutual trust and respect.
Tories' continued reduction of the Police budget has created this situation, combined with poor oversight, has meant people have lost complete faith in the service, and criminals believe they can offend without consequences.
Labour keeps blaming the Tories, justifiably so, but first thing Labour do is raise your council tax putting homes and families in financial uncertainty and debts instead of representing us and taking the challenge to the Government and demanding adequate budgets to better serve the community, this I will be doing.
How have so many crimes reported remain unsolved for so long? No wonder people have lost faith. Career politicians, loyal to their parties will tow the party line.
I will ensure the force is held to account, rebuild faith in neighbourhood policing by better delivery and build respect and mutual trust.
Habib Rahman, Independent Cllr, Newcastle’s first and former Muslim Lord Mayor.
I am independent.
I don't have a party leader telling me what to do.
I will be directed by you. It is my job to listen to you and respond to your
wishes, your needs and I will deliver to make you feel safe!
Police and Crime Commissioner must be independent, otherwise, the party
led Commissioner will prioritise what's best for their political leaders over
yours!
